Why We Love North East – Easy Living
North East is the northernmost town in Pennsylvania, founded in 1794 and incorporated in 1834. A borough of Erie County — just 14 miles from Erie, PA — North East is a beloved home for over 4,000 friendly residents. Thinking about joining our community? We’d be happy to share a few of our favorite things about North East to help you decide! We love our charming town and we’re confident you will too
Natural Beauty
Who doesn’t want to live somewhere beautiful? North East is home to Gibson Park, Creekside Park, Freeport Beach, and Heard Memorial Park, where we host our famous Annual North East Firemen’s Cherry Festival. These parks have their own unique features, including playgrounds, concession stands, stages for music, swimming areas, and more. What they all have in common are scenic views and a peaceful atmosphere that you just can’t find in the city or the suburbs.
Of course, we can’t talk about North East’s natural beauty without mentioning Lake Erie. We’re proudly situated right on the coast of this gorgeous lake, which is one of the best locations in the country for boating, swimming, and fishing. The lakeside is also a lovely place to sit, sunbathe, and unwind.
Interstate Location
Not ready to let go of city-living entirely? We don’t blame you. Thankfully, North East is conveniently situated between three states and a number of the region’s major cities. This includes Buffalo, Cleveland, and Pittsburgh, all within a 2-hour drive!
Comfortable Weather
A feature of North East that attracts people from across the country is our pleasant weather. Our proximity to one of the five Great Lakes, the aforementioned Lake Erie, helps prevent our temperatures and overall weather conditions from reaching extremes.
Perfect For Raising a Family
With a population of just over 4,000 residents, North East is a wholesome place to raise a family. After all, there are plenty of benefits to living in a tight-knit community where everyone knows each other. Instead of feeling like faces in a crowd, you’ll start recognizing people and making new friends everywhere you go.
Cities can be overwhelming for children, as they may struggle to find their own identity among hundreds of thousands of people. In a town of 4,000, it’s much easier for all of us to see what makes us unique and how our individuality is valuable to our community.
